Work has started to repair the retaining walls at Hopedale Town Park but while the primary play areas and playground are not expected to be impacted, the baseball field will reportedly be unusable for the next several weeks. Town Administrator Mitch Rusciti says in a social media post the unusually wet spring led to more complications after a subcontractor removing the trees damaged an area of left field due to the weight of their equipment. Rusciti says the general contractor will be fixing it, but given the timeline involved, they are working through contingencies for baseball games and practices.
