NORTHBRIDGE – After receiving overwhelming support at Town Meeting, Northbridge’s proposed $3.3 million school tax override will now move to the Town Election ballot on May 19. The measure passed Town Meeting by a vote of 348 to 76.

Officials say the override would close the district’s current funding gap and stabilize school finances for the next five years. Superintendent officials have warned that if the measure fails, the district could lose 12 staff positions, six high school sports teams, and additional programs and services.
