HOPKINTON – A new sidewalk project is set to begin next week in Hopkinton, aimed at improving pedestrian safety. The Department of Public Works says construction will start Tuesday after the Marathon along Chestnut Street, from Wild Road to just past Gibbon to Smith.
The project is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks, with minimal traffic disruption since most work will occur on the road shoulder. The sidewalk was approved at Town Meeting to help connect residential neighborhoods and create safer walking routes.
