HOPKINTON – Drivers using the I-495 and Massachusetts Turnpike interchange will soon see another major traffic pattern change.
MassDOT says the new I-90 eastbound on-ramp from I-495 southbound is scheduled to open on July 9th as work continues on the multi-year reconstruction of the interchange.
Temporary lane closures on both the northbound and southbound sides of I-495 will be in place on July 8th and July 9th while crews shift traffic onto the new roadway.
Once the new ramp opens, officials say the temporary traffic split on I-495 northbound will be eliminated and traffic will return to a more traditional pattern through the interchange.
