Millis/Medway Animal Control Urges Caution During Baby White-Tailed Deer Season

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Millis/Medway Animal Control reminds you it’s baby white-tailed deer season and these deer have a very specific way of parenting – fawns are only visited by their mothers a few times a day as the moms go off to forage. Officials say if you encounter a fawn in the same location for multiple days, it is not necessarily orphaned, the mom may have a reason, and don’t take it home as unauthorized possession of white-tailed deer is illegal. If you do know about an actual injury or death of the mother, contact Mass Wildlife.
