By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Hopkinton Water Department is continuing to implore users of the town water system to curb unnecessary water use. They say groundwater is still going down with the lack of rain causing pumping capacity to be cut back at the well sources. And with a forecast for continued dry and above normal temperatures through the end of the month, this system is under strain. Plus, they say the low groundwater levels are also causing water to be pulled from further out in the aquifers which is why your water is discolored.
