Hopkinton Select Board Urges School Committee to Cut Proposed Budget

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton’s Select Board reportedly wants the School Committee to do more trimming on their proposed budget for next year. They held a joint meeting last week along with the Appropriations Committee. The current version of the school district budget is about $3.2 million higher than this year, an increase of about 5.35%. The Hopkinton Independent reports the Select Board wants the increase closer to 4.4% saying they have a lot of capital costs that have been requested, many for the school district.
