There could be some cuts coming to the Hopkinton Parks and Recreation Department. At the Parks and Rec Commission meeting this week, the commissioners discussed some proposed budget directives from the town manager in order to balance the town budget for Fiscal Year 2026. The Hopkinton Independent reports while it’s still a work in progress, recommended cuts include the annual holiday lights at the Town Common, maintenance for the Claflin Memorial Fountain and financial aid for some residents to participate in activities. In all Parks & Rec is being asked to cut about $37,000.
