HOPKINTON – Home delivery of marijuana products is unlikely to become available in Hopkinton anytime soon. The Hopkinton Board of Health has voted to recommend that the Select Board opt the town out of Massachusetts’ new cannabis delivery law for at least two years.
The law, signed by Governor Maura Healey in April, allows communities that have historically restricted marijuana businesses to opt out of permitting deliveries. Hopkinton currently allows only cannabis-related businesses focused on research and analysis, not cultivation or retail sales. The Select Board has not yet announced when it will consider the recommendation.
