By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton is having a Household Hazardous Waste Collection this Saturday August 3 at the Department of Public Works on Wood Street. From 8 am to 1 pm Saturday, Hopkinton residents with ID can bring in things like paints and thinners, transmission and brake fluids, insecticides and weed killers, hobby supplies and pool chemicals. They ask you to pack the containers in sturdy, upright boxes and pad with some newspaper. And stay in your vehicle when you get there – the staff will remove the items themselves.
