The latest version of Hopkinton’s Fiscal Year 26 budget still has a nearly $1.9 million gap between income and expenses. The Hopkinton Independent reports the Town Manager presented it to the Select Board at their latest meeting pointing out that it has increased over last year by only within the 2.5% allowed by Proposition 2 1/2. She said many town services have been streamlined and consolidated to get to this number and pointed out the town does have some free cash that could help. The budget process still has several steps and a few months to go.
