Hopkinton Begins Repairs on Water Well as Restrictions Remain in Place

HOPKINTON – Hopkinton’s Water and Sewer Department is beginning work today to restore one of the town’s key water wells to service.

Town officials say a contractor will install a new pump at Well #7 after the existing pump failed last week. The mechanical issue forced both Wells #7 and #8 offline, placing additional strain on the municipal water system.

With repairs expected to take several days, officials are reminding residents that mandatory water restrictions remain in effect. All outdoor non-essential water use is prohibited for customers connected to the municipal water supply. The town says the restrictions are necessary to ensure adequate water remains available for public health needs and fire protection.
