HOPEDALE – Hopedale Town Administrator Mitch Ruscitti has reportedly filed a $500,000 lawsuit against Select Board Chairwoman Glenda Hazard and Water & Sewer Commissioner Edward Burt, alleging defamation and other claims.
The lawsuit comes as Ruscitti is being considered for the Town Administrator position in Swansea, where officials announced last month that they had selected him for the role pending contract negotiations. According to reports, Ruscitti’s complaint alleges the two town officials falsely accused him of lying and violating laws, then placed those allegations into the public record through both printed materials and online postings. Ruscitti has not publicly stated whether he intends to accept the Swansea position.
