FRANKLIN – The historic South Franklin Congregational Meeting House has begun a new chapter as an affordable single-family home.

The former church, also known as the Old South Church, has been transformed through a partnership between the Town of Franklin and Old Colony Habitat for Humanity.

Following Habitat’s homeowner selection process, the Marmol family was chosen to purchase the home after completing hundreds of hours of volunteer “sweat equity” alongside Habitat volunteers.

Town officials say the property will remain deed-restricted as affordable housing in perpetuity, helping preserve long-term housing affordability in Franklin.
