By MyFM’s Marissa Santos – The Town of Blackstone has secured an $87,000 grant from the Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD) for enhancing accessibility at Roosevelt Park Playground and other park facilities. Spearheaded by Selectwoman Tanya Polak and Parks and Recreation Commissioner Sara Peters, the grant application process resulted in key achievements such as establishing ADA policies, appointing an ADA Coordinator, and creating the Blackstone Disability Commission. The commission, led by Polak and Peters, seeks new members to advise on accessibility matters. For more details or to access ADA Transition Plan documents, visit the town’s website. This grant reinforces Blackstone’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
