BLACKSTONE – The Blackstone Regional Animal Shelter has launched a monthly pop-up pantry to help pet owners facing financial hardship.
Shelter officials say the program was created after seeing an increase in the number of animals being surrendered because owners could no longer afford food and other basic pet supplies.
Thanks to community donations, the pantry is now held on the fourth Thursday of every month from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Taft Public Library.
Anyone wishing to support the program can donate pet food and supplies at the shelter on Chestnut Street in Blackstone.
