MILFORD — Milford Post 59 erupted for 16 runs on 11 hits and cruised to a 16-0 shutout victory over Northboro Post 234 in American Legion Baseball action Monday night.
Milford wasted little time taking control, scoring five runs in the first inning before adding two more in the second. Post 59 broke the game open with a nine-run fourth inning and never looked back en route to the mercy-rule win.
The Milford offense was led by Jackson Fournier, who went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Brayden Lewis delivered one of the game’s biggest hits, finishing 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Sam Schoenberg also had a strong night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, four runs scored, and a triple.
Nick Pedroli contributed a pair of hits, scored two runs, and drove in one, while Brady Iarussi scored twice and knocked in two runs. Joey McGee added an RBI, and Adam Dubowik chipped in a run-scoring hit.
Milford’s aggressive baserunning also played a major role. Jackson Fournier, Sam Schoenberg, Brady Iarussi, Joey McGee, Josh Giancola, and Nick Pedroli each recorded stolen bases as Post 59 continuously pressured the Northboro defense.
On the mound, Tyler Ballard earned the win, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out seven. Jaxen Lindsey was equally effective in relief, surrendering one hit over two scoreless innings and striking out four as the duo combined on the shutout.
Northboro managed just two hits in the contest. AJ Phaneuf collected both hits for Post 234, while Brendan Hamann and Liam Murphy each drew walks. Milford’s pitching staff struck out 11 batters and did not allow a run.
Milford finished with 16 runs on 11 hits and committed no errors, while Northboro was held to two hits and one error in the loss.
Milford will look to carry that momentum into its home opener on Thursday against Cherry Valley Post 443 at Fino Field in Milford. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. as Post 59 returns home for the first time during the 2026 American Legion Baseball season.
