Attleboro came away with a hard-fought 13-9 victory over Stoughton in a low-scoring Hockomock League football matchup on Friday night, relying on big plays on both sides of the ball to secure the win.
Quarterback Cason Cambra connected for a passing touchdown in the first half to help get the Bombardiers on the scoreboard. Attleboro added to its lead with a game-changing defensive play, as Jesioah Raphael recovered a fumble and returned it 48 yards for a touchdown.
Raphael made his presence felt once again in the closing moments, recording a game-ending interception to seal the four-point victory and deny Stoughton a chance to rally.
The win gives Attleboro momentum heading into next week’s matchup, when the Bombardiers will travel to take on Franklin. The Panthers are coming off a 17-14 victory over Milford, setting up an intriguing Hockomock League showdown between the two teams.
