Leominster Post 151 Pulls Away Late to Defeat Northbridge Post 343, 9-4

LEOMINSTER — Leominster Post 151 used a four-run sixth inning to break open a close game and handed Northbridge Post 343 a 9-4 defeat in American Legion baseball action Tuesday evening.

Northbridge stayed within striking distance for much of the night and finished with seven hits, but Leominster capitalized on several defensive miscues and timely hitting to secure the victory.

Jack Marino paced Post 343 offensively, going 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Alex Vosburgh added a hit and scored, while Dylan Diosomito, Jackson Manosh and Will Nason also contributed hits. Jackson Manosh recorded a double and scored a run for Northbridge.

Cody Veneziano took the loss after working 4⅔ innings, allowing three runs while striking out five. Evan Pupka and Antonio D’Alfonso combined to finish the game in relief.

Leominster Post 151 collected seven hits and was led by Mark Garner, who homered and drove in two runs. Brett Richard and Anthony Carpentier each added RBIs, while Sawyer Corbin scored twice atop the lineup.

Jake Notaro earned the win on the mound for Leominster, tossing six innings while allowing four runs on seven hits. Will Urda recorded the final three outs in relief.

Northbridge committed six errors, allowing Leominster to take advantage and score nine runs despite recording only seven hits.

The teams were tied through the middle innings before Leominster broke the game open with a four-run sixth and added two more runs in the seventh to seal the victory.
