FRANKLIN — Franklin Post 75 has officially captured the 2026 Massachusetts American Legion Junior Baseball State Championship, completing an undefeated run through the state tournament and securing a berth in the American Legion Junior Northeast Regional Tournament.

Franklin finished the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record, defeating Greenfield Post 81, Beverly Post 331 and Plymouth Post 40 to earn the state title.

Massachusetts will send two teams to this year’s Junior Northeast Regional Tournament, allowing Franklin to clinch one of the two regional berths by winning the state championship before the tournament concludes.

While Franklin has already secured both the state championship and its regional bid, the remaining games on Wednesday will determine which team joins Post 75 at the Northeast Regional Tournament.

At 4 p.m., Plymouth Post 40 will face Lowell Post 87, while Braintree Post 86 takes on Franklin Post 75.

If Franklin defeats Braintree in the afternoon game, the winner of the Lowell-Plymouth matchup will automatically claim Massachusetts’ second regional berth, making the scheduled 7 p.m. game unnecessary.

However, if Braintree defeats Franklin, the winners of the two 4 p.m. games will meet at 7 p.m. to determine which team earns the Commonwealth’s second and final spot in the Northeast Regional Tournament.

Franklin enters Wednesday’s action already knowing its season will continue beyond the state tournament. Now, the focus shifts toward preparing for regional competition while the rest of the field battles for the opportunity to join Post 75 on the next stage.
