HUDSON, MASS. — Hudson Post 100 improved to 5-1 on the American Legion season Tuesday night, edging Grafton Post 92 by a score of 7-6 in a back-and-forth contest that wasn’t decided until the final inning.

Grafton struck first, plating three runs in the top of the third inning to take an early 3-0 lead. Post 92 added another run in the fourth and appeared to be in control before Hudson responded with four runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning to even the score at 4-4.

The seesaw battle continued in the fifth when Grafton regained a two-run advantage. Once again, Hudson answered, scoring twice in the sixth inning to knot the game at 6-6 and set the stage for a dramatic finish.

In the bottom of the seventh, Ben Lamson crossed the plate on a wild pitch to give Hudson the walk-off victory and cap off one of the most exciting games of the young season.

Hudson’s offense featured contributions throughout the lineup, with six different players recording RBIs. Blake Freitas paced the attack with a multi-hit performance as Post 100 continued to showcase its offensive depth.

For Grafton, Haylan Oberg led the way offensively, finishing 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Kyle Brown and CJ Chagnon also collected multiple hits in the losing effort.

On the mound, Hudson relied on the tandem of Nathan Machado and Joey Farrell. Farrell earned the victory after allowing no earned runs and striking out two over his outing. Oberg started for Grafton and worked four innings, while Danny Rauktis took the loss after pitching the final 2.2 innings.

With the win, Hudson improved to 5-1 and continued its strong start to the American Legion season, while Grafton drops their third consecutive game and look to bounce back tonight vs. Framingham Post 117.
