Emily Flagg was nominated for the Central Mass. High School awards, this Wednesday at the DCU Center, due to her contributions this year to Whitinsville-Christian. Emily was a bona fide superstar this season for the Crusaders, reaching top marks for both cross-country and track and field. Emily won the D2 Cross Country state championship and went undefeated all season, won the D4 two-mile championship, and won the two-mile D5 championship and 4×800 relay race for outdoor track. Put simply, Emily was a dominant force in three different sports this season and will only continue to get better. Because of her tremendous accomplishments, Emily was honored at the awards ceremony, being named the Girls’ Cross-Country and Indoor Track Hometeam Athlete of the Year. Emily will be entering her junior year next year, which means she still has two years to rack up accolades. Keep an eye out for Emily over the next two seasons, because it seems she will continue to break records and carve her name into both Whitinsville and state record books.
