MILLIS – The Millis Cultural Council will begin accepting grant proposals for the 2026-2027 fiscal year on September 1st, giving individuals and organizations an opportunity to seek funding for programs that enrich arts and culture in the Millis community.
Applications will be accepted through October 15th, 2026. Priority will be given to first-time submissions and programs that are free and open to the public for the benefit of the Millis community.
Proposals must include a no-cost component for participants, attendees or a portion of the audience, along with a proposed timeframe for the program. Applicants whose programs have received funding within the past three years must also explain steps being taken to make the program more sustainable.
Proposed activities must take place within the Town of Millis, with applicants required to provide confirmation from the organization or venue that will host the program. Applicants are also encouraged to submit samples of their work for consideration.
Millis High School seniors are eligible to apply for funding to support their senior project requirements.
Through funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Millis Cultural Council awarded more than $7,400 during the 2025-2026 grant cycle. Supported projects included concert series, dance and cooking classes, hands-on art instruction, digital art and photography programs, community theater, cultural education and a fairy house garden, with programming serving everyone from children to seniors.
The Millis Cultural Council works to promote excellence, access and diversity in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences throughout the community.
