MILFORD – The Milford Senior Center will host a special celebration on Wednesday, June 24, honoring both the 250th birthday of the United States and the 100th birthday of Milford resident Babe Frascotti.
The event will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, located at 60 North Bow Street in Milford, and will feature live music from the East/West Duo along with food from local favorite Gene’s Variety.
Organizers say the gathering will celebrate a remarkable milestone for both the nation and one of the community’s longtime residents. Frascotti, a member of the Milford Senior Center, will be recognized as he reaches the century mark alongside America’s celebration.
Frascotti’s life has been marked by service to both his country and his community. A lifelong Milford resident, he served honorably in the United States Navy as a Seabee during World War II. He and his wife, Lucy, have built a family that includes two children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. As he celebrates his 100th birthday, family, friends, and fellow community members will recognize not only his longevity, but also a lifetime of dedication, service, and local pride.
The event is open exclusively to Milford Senior Center members age 60 and older who purchased tickets in advance. While the celebration is not open to the general public, members of the media are welcome to attend.
