The memorial, led by the Framingham Firefighter Memorial Foundation, will honor firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, as well as those who lost their lives due to occupational illness.

Once completed, the memorial will feature a six-foot-tall bronze firefighter statue, a granite wall engraved with the names of fallen firefighters, and a dedicated area recognizing past members of the department.

Mayor Charlie Sisitsky, Fire Chief Michael Dutcher, and Foundation President John Schultz spoke during the ceremony about the importance of preserving the legacy of those who served and ensuring future generations remember their sacrifice and dedication.

While construction is now underway, residents still have an opportunity to support the project through donations or by purchasing custom-engraved bricks that will become part of the memorial site. Organizers say all contributions are tax-deductible and will directly support completion of the project.
