HOPKINTON – A lovable chocolate Labrador is looking for a fresh start, and the team at Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton hopes the community can help.
Willow, a 4-year-old chocolate Lab, recently arrived at Baypath through no fault of her own after spending her entire life with one family. Shelter staff say the transition has been difficult for the affectionate dog, who is still adjusting to life outside the only home she has ever known.
Despite the challenges, Willow remains a social and trusting companion who loves people, enjoys carrying around stuffed toys, and is happiest spending time with those around her. She has done well meeting people of all ages, including children.
Shelter staff say Willow would benefit greatly from a foster home or, even better, a forever family. Having spent much of her life in a crate with limited exposure to new experiences, she is still learning that things like car rides and unfamiliar environments can be safe. She will thrive with a patient adopter willing to help her build confidence at her own pace.
While Willow previously lived with another dog, Baypath believes she would be happiest as the only pet in the home, where she can enjoy all the attention and affection for herself.
Those interested in meeting Willow can visit Baypath during open hours or submit an application online. Individuals interested in fostering can learn more through the organization’s foster program.
