WESTBOROUGH – Westborough has been awarded Climate Leader status by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources. The town’s Sustainability Coordinator tells the Community Advocate the designation will make Westborough eligible for additional grants that could help fund projects such as rooftop replacements and solar canopies.
Town officials say those projects could ultimately help save taxpayers money. To earn the designation, Westborough had to complete several steps, including developing a plan to help move the town toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
