WESTBOROUGH – You won’t be getting Amazon packages by drone from a new launch facility in Central Massachusetts, at least for now. Amazon has sent a letter to Westborough Town Manager Kristi Williams saying the company no longer plans to install a drone launching pad at its Otis Street location.
The Community Advocate reports this does not necessarily mean Amazon has abandoned drone delivery altogether, but it is a change from the original plan. Amazon’s application had been scheduled to go before the Westborough Zoning Board of Appeals today.
