GRAFTON – Grafton Town Meeting has voted to ban data centers. The article passed 114-to-12 after the Planning Board unanimously voted last month to bring the proposed zoning change to Town Meeting.
The change still needs approval from the state Attorney General’s Office. Town officials created a specific definition for a data center so the new rule applies to buildings where a data center is the primary function and does not prohibit smaller server rooms that are part of other businesses.
