UXBRIDGE – There will be no criminal charges in the death of Uxbridge Police Officer Stephen LaPorta. LaPorta was outside his cruiser helping another driver on an icy Route 146 last winter when he was struck by a passing tractor-trailer.
The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office says its investigation is complete and the incident does not warrant criminal charges against the truck driver or anyone else. LaPorta left behind a wife and 13-year-old son.
