WESTBOROUGH – Westborough residents are putting some rules in place as Amazon moves forward with plans for drone deliveries.
Amazon began the permit process in August to launch drones from its Otis Street facility for deliveries around Westborough, Hopkinton, Upton and Grafton. After lawmakers asked Amazon to gather more input from residents, Westborough Town Meeting overwhelmingly approved a bylaw Monday regulating where and how drones can operate.
The bylaw is not an outright ban, and the FAA will still have authority over flight paths.
