Two of the Hockomock League’s top field hockey teams squared off Friday night, with Canton coming away with a 1-0 victory over Attleboro.
After a scoreless first half, the game remained tightly contested through the first three quarters. Late in the third, Canton finally broke through when Shannon Lane connected with teammate Cassidy Lyons to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.
That would prove to be the only goal of the game, as Canton’s defense held off Attleboro the rest of the way to secure the shutout victory.
With the win, Canton improves to 5-0 on the season. The Bulldogs will look to keep their perfect record intact when they take on North Attleboro tomorrow.
