MASSACHUSETTS – A program designed to improve interactions between law enforcement officers and people with autism is now available statewide.
Massachusetts has launched the Blue Envelope Program, a free initiative intended to help facilitate clearer communication during interactions between police and autistic drivers.
The blue envelope can be used to keep important driving documents and provide information designed to help both the driver and responding officer navigate an interaction more effectively.
Blue envelopes are available at Registry of Motor Vehicles service centers and participating AAA locations. Residents can also request one online.
