HOPKINTON – Drivers traveling through the I-90/I-495 interchange will encounter another significant traffic change beginning Friday night as reconstruction of the interchange continues.
MassDOT plans to shift I-90 eastbound traffic at I-495 onto a new temporary alignment. The configuration is expected to remain in place until the middle of 2027 while crews complete the third phase of work on the railroad bridge structure.
Lane closures will begin at 8 PM Friday and continue until 5 AM Saturday while crews complete the traffic shift. MassDOT says at least one eastbound lane will remain open throughout the work.
The ramp from I-90 eastbound to I-495 northbound will be closed overnight, with a posted detour available for drivers.
