FRANKLIN — The Franklin Panthers Youth Football and Cheer program is getting ready to kick off its 2026 season, with Week 1 games scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 30 at locations across the region.
Each age group will open the season against a different opponent, with Franklin teams traveling to Norton, Taunton, Weymouth, Braintree and Walpole.
The third-grade team will face Norton at 10 a.m. at Norton High School, while the fourth-grade team will take on Taunton at 9:30 a.m. at Taunton High School.
Franklin’s fifth-grade team will play Weymouth at 11:45 a.m. at Weymouth High School, and the sixth-grade team will face Braintree at 11 a.m. at Braintree High School.
The seventh-grade team will also travel to Taunton, with its game scheduled for 2 p.m., while the eighth-grade team will open the day with an 8 a.m. matchup against Walpole at Walpole High School.
Franklin Panthers Youth Football and Cheer says its athletes have been putting in significant work throughout the preseason in preparation for the opening weekend.
The Aug. 30 games mark the first official competition of the season for Franklin’s youth football teams, beginning what the organization hopes will be a successful fall across all age groups.
