SOUTHBOROUGH – A Southborough technology company has added a new executive as it works to expand its semiconductor laser business.
Block Engineering has hired Denzil Vaughn as its new chief operating officer. Vaughn previously served as a vice president at Thermo Fisher Scientific and brings extensive engineering and business experience to his new role.
Block Engineering develops laser-based instruments used to detect and identify chemicals and gases. Its technology serves several sectors, including security, environmental monitoring, medical applications and industrial operations.
Vaughn holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering as well as an MBA. His hiring comes as Block Engineering looks to grow its semiconductor laser operations.
