HOPKINTON – Drivers traveling through the Interstate 495 and Massachusetts Turnpike interchange should expect overnight lane closures as another major milestone in the multi-year reconstruction project gets underway.
MassDOT will shift southbound traffic on I-495 from the temporary median alignment into its final roadway configuration beginning at 8 PM tonight. The work is expected to continue until 5 AM Tuesday.
During the overnight operation, one or more southbound lanes between Route 9 and the Fruit Street overpass will be closed, although at least one travel lane will remain open at all times. By Tuesday morning, all three southbound lanes are expected to be open in their permanent alignment.
