HOLLISTON – Officials have not released an update on the condition of a 2-year-old child who was involved in a water emergency Saturday evening at Stoddard Park Beach.
The Holliston Fire Department responded to a reported drowning shortly after the park’s lifeguards had gone off duty for the day. The child was flown to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for treatment.
Town officials noted that lifeguards are on duty daily from 10:30 AM to 5 PM, but the beach remains open after those hours. They are reminding residents that swimming outside staffed hours is at their own risk.
