MILFORD – Milford Police are urging residents to stay away from the Shadowbrook Quarries following a serious weekend rescue.

Police say an 18-year-old woman suffered significant injuries after falling approximately 12 feet from a rock ledge onto jagged rocks below.

Milford firefighters and Coastal EMS paramedics used specialized rescue equipment to lower personnel into the quarry before lifting the woman back to the surface for treatment.

Police Chief Robert Tusino said the quarries remain an unsafe location due to steep rock faces, unstable terrain, and limited access, all of which create hazards for both visitors and emergency responders.
