HOPKINTON – Work is underway to restore water service following the failure of a water main serving Claflin Place.
The Hopkinton Water and Sewer Department is installing a temporary above-ground water main bypass to maintain service while crews replace the damaged underground pipe.
The temporary line will connect to a fire hydrant on Commonwealth Avenue and cross the nearby bike trail. Town officials say Commonwealth Avenue will remain open to traffic throughout the project, and every effort will be made to keep the bike trail accessible during construction.
