MILFORD — Milford Post 59 continued its torrid offensive stretch Monday night, erupting for 13 runs on 14 hits to defeat Northbridge Post 343, 13-3, in a six-inning District 4 American Legion Baseball matchup at Fino Field.
Milford jumped in front immediately with two runs in the opening inning. Northbridge would tie things up with two of their own in the 2nd, then adding another in the third to take the lead. That was as close as the visitors would get. Milford broke the game open with four runs in the fourth, added four more in the fifth, and capped the night with three runs in the sixth to secure the run-rule victory.
Nick Pedroli delivered one of the best all-around performances of the season, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, five RBIs, and three runs scored. Pedroli’s long ball highlighted a seven-total-base evening as he continually sparked the Milford offense from the leadoff spot.
The rest of the lineup followed suit. Sam Schoenberg went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored, while Jackson Fournier collected three hits and drove in two. Brayden Lewis added a double, scored a run, and knocked in another, and Sean Burchard chipped in a hit and crossed the plate twice.
On the mound, Cole McGovern earned the victory after allowing three runs—just one earned—over five innings. McGovern scattered four hits, walked four, and kept Northbridge from putting together any sustained rallies. Ben Maiorano closed out the sixth inning with a scoreless frame to finish off the win.
Milford’s offense was relentless throughout the night, piling up 14 hits while drawing six walks and scoring in five of the six innings played. The victory continued Post 59’s impressive run through District 4 play as Milford extends their winning streak to eight games and sit atop the summit of the District 4 standings. They also remain undefeated at Fino Field, with a 7-0 home field record.
