MILFORD — Milford Post 59 wasted little time taking control Saturday night, scoring six runs in the opening inning on the way to a commanding 13-2 victory over Framingham Post 117 in District 4 American Legion Baseball action.
The win continued Milford’s impressive season, as Post 59 piled up 14 hits while Brady Wajda turned in another strong performance on the mound.
Milford erupted immediately in the bottom of the first, sending 11 batters to the plate and building a 6-0 lead before Framingham could record the third out. The offense stayed hot throughout the night, adding three more runs in the third inning before tacking on four more in the fifth to complete the 13-run performance.
Joey McGee led the offensive attack with a 3-for-4 night, driving in two runs and scoring twice. Sam Schoenberg was equally productive, finishing 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs, and a run scored. Sean Burchard collected a double, drove in a run, and scored twice, while Nolan Murray added a pair of hits and an RBI.
Jackson Fournier chipped in with a hit, RBI, and two runs scored, while Ben Maiorano, Nick Pedroli, and Cole McGovern each recorded an RBI in the balanced offensive effort.
On the mound, Brady Wajda delivered five solid innings to earn the victory, allowing just two earned runs on three hits while striking out eight. He kept Framingham’s lineup off balance throughout the evening, helping Milford build and maintain its comfortable lead from start to finish.
Milford finished the night with 14 hits, including four doubles, while the pitching staff held Framingham to just three hits. The victory added another convincing performance to an already impressive campaign for Milford. They currently sit atop the District 4 standings with a 12-2 record, having won their last seven consecutive games.
