BELLINGHAM — The Bellingham Youth Basketball Association (BYBA) is inviting local students to hit the courts this summer as it hosts its annual Summer Nights program beginning Wednesday, July 1.

The program will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the outdoor courts at Bellingham Memorial Middle School and will continue on select Wednesday evenings throughout the summer.

According to organizers, the informal gatherings are designed to give boys and girls entering grades 5 through 8 an opportunity to play basketball, develop their skills and enjoy time with friends in a fun and welcoming environment.

BYBA coaches and board members will oversee the sessions, which are open to players of all abilities. Organizers say the goal of Summer Nights is to bring members of the basketball community together and provide young athletes with additional opportunities to stay active during the offseason.

The event is hosted by the Bellingham Youth Basketball Association and is open to the public. Additional information and future dates are available through the BYBA Facebook page.
