Hopkinton Water Restrictions Remain in Effect During Well Repairs

HOPKINTON – Mandatory water restrictions remain in place in Hopkinton as crews continue repairs to one of the town’s municipal water wells.

Officials say Well #7 suffered a pump failure last week, leaving both Wells #7 and #8 out of service. Contractors are currently working to replace the damaged pump, but the loss of the wells has further strained the town’s water supply during an already challenging drought period.

Residents connected to the municipal water system are prohibited from using water for non-essential outdoor purposes. Town officials say hand-watering gardens is still permitted, and businesses may continue water use necessary for their core operations.
