MENDON – Bars and restaurants in Mendon will be able to stay open later this summer following action by the Select Board.
Town officials have voted to opt into a new state law that allows communities to extend alcohol service hours during major events, including the FIFA World Cup and America 250 celebrations. As a result, participating establishments in Mendon may remain open until 2 a.m. through the end of July.
According to the Mendon Commons, the law also gives municipalities the option to designate areas where public alcohol consumption may be permitted during approved events.
