FRANKLIN – As work continues on Franklin’s massive Beaver Street Interceptor Upgrade Project, town officials are giving residents a look at one of the project’s most important components.
The Franklin Department of Public Works recently shared video of the new pump station that will serve as the centerpiece of the modernized sewer system. The interceptor replacement project began in 2023 and is designed to replace aging infrastructure dating back to 1914.
The new pump station carries a price tag of approximately $8 million and represents about one-quarter of the overall $33 million project cost. Officials say the work is now approaching the finish line after three years of construction and will significantly improve the reliability and capacity of Franklin’s wastewater system.
