Northbridge Post 343 Routs Vernon Hill Post 435, 13-2

NORTHBRIDGE — Northbridge Post 343 erupted for 13 runs on 12 hits Wednesday night, rolling to a 13-2 victory over Vernon Hill Post 435 in American Legion Baseball action.

Northbridge wasted little time taking control, scoring once in the first inning before adding three runs in the second and six more in the third to build a commanding lead. Post 343 continued to add on, scoring three times in the fourth inning to complete the offensive outburst.

The Northbridge lineup produced contributions from top to bottom. Cody Veneziano led the way, going 2-for-2 with three runs scored, an RBI, and a double. Antonio D’Alfonso had a huge night at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with three RBIs, three runs scored, and a triple.

Alex Vosburg contributed a 3-for-3 performance with a triple, two RBIs, and a pair of runs scored, while Jackson Manosh went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a stolen base. Connor Brennan added a double and drove in two runs, and Jack Marino collected a hit and an RBI.

Jake Costello reached base and drove in a run, while J.J. MacDonald added a hit, an RBI, and scored once as Northbridge’s offense piled up 13 runs.

On the mound, Luke Charron earned the win with a strong complete-game effort. Charron allowed just two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out eight while walking only one. He also hit a batter and faced 20 hitters in the victory.

Vernon Hill managed just three hits in the contest. Noah Jolly scored a run and collected a hit, while Ethan Sonnenberg and Zach Braconnier also recorded hits. Vernon Hill’s lone RBI came from Sonnenberg, and the team stole one base in the loss.

Northbridge played clean baseball defensively, committing just one error, while Vernon Hill committed two errors. Post 343 finished with 13 runs on 12 hits and continued its strong offensive start to the season with the convincing victory.
