Hudson Post 100 Powers Past Northboro Post 234, 14-3

NORTHBORO — Hudson Post 100 broke the game open with a relentless offensive attack Wednesday night, defeating Northboro Post 234 by a 14-3 score in American Legion Baseball action.

Hudson scored four runs in the second inning and never looked back. After adding six more runs over the middle innings, Post 100 erupted for four runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach. Hudson finished with 14 runs on 14 hits while taking advantage of Northboro’s pitching throughout the contest.

Anthony Moura led the offensive charge, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored, a double, a triple, and three RBIs. Blake Freitas also had a big night, finishing 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Jackson Libby added two hits, including a home run, while scoring twice and driving in one run.

Ben Lamson contributed a pair of hits and two RBIs, Brady Quirion finished with two hits and two RBIs, and Joey Farrell collected two hits and an RBI. Charlie Hammel added a hit and drove in two runs as Hudson received production throughout the lineup.

Hudson’s aggressive baserunning also played a major role. Moura, Quirion, and Joey Farrell each stole two bases, while Freitas, Libby, Lamson, and Hammel added one stolen base apiece.

On the mound, Jack Redmond earned the victory, allowing just three hits and no runs while striking out five over 3.1 innings. Will Hastings worked in relief before Anthony Moura closed out the final two innings. Hudson pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts and allowed just three runs on three hits.

Northboro’s offense was led by Young Smith, who homered and drove in two runs. Calvin Chan added a double and a hit, while Grady Bishop contributed a hit and scored a run. Despite collecting only three hits, Northboro capitalized on opportunities in the fifth inning to score all three of its runs.

Hudson improved its strong start to the season with the convincing victory, finishing the night with 14 runs, 14 hits, and just one error. Northboro recorded three runs on three hits and committed one error in the loss.
