FRANKLIN — Despite rainy weather, Franklin residents and local letter carriers came together in a big way during this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

On May 9, the annual effort collected approximately 10,000 pounds of food and household essentials, providing the equivalent of roughly 8,300 meals for neighbors experiencing food insecurity, according to the Franklin Food Pantry.

The drive was made possible through the efforts of Franklin Letter Carriers, volunteers, local businesses, youth groups, and community members who helped prepare and distribute donation bags throughout town ahead of the event.

Organizers say the annual drive plays an important role in helping sustain the Pantry during the spring months, especially as demand for food assistance continues to rise.

Residents who missed the drive can still donate food and household essentials directly to the Pantry at 341 West Central Street in Franklin, or support the organization through its Amazon Wish List and online donations.

Stamp Out Hunger is scheduled to return on May 8, 2027.
