FRANKLIN – A six-acre property known as the former Akin Bak Farm is now on the market and could soon be developed for commercial use. The site at 360 West Central Street is listed for nearly $5 million, with the seller hoping to complete a sale by the fall.
According to the Franklin Observer, the land is zoned for commercial use and is not subject to Chapter 61 “right of first refusal,” meaning the town cannot purchase it at a discounted rate or receive a tax break. The property, once a family farm and popular beekeeping site, is expected to draw interest for future development.
